The Classima is the quiet end of the Baume & Mercier catalogue, and this 40mm reference shows why the formula lasts. The blue dial is worked in two textures rather than one: a fine barleycorn guilloche fills the centre, ringed by a smooth sun-satin outer track carrying the minute markings, so the dial has depth without any applied decoration. Rhodium-plated Roman numerals sit at twelve, three, six and nine with slim indexes between them, and the leaf-shaped hands are a deliberately traditional choice against the modern texture beneath. A date aperture sits at three o'clock. The polished steel case is round and slim with a solid back, and the dark blue alligator-patterned calfskin strap changes without tools on a spring bar system.
