Ruthenium is the unusual choice here. Rather than the rhodium plating used across the rest of the Riviera line, the indexes and Roman numerals on this 39mm reference are finished in ruthenium, which is a darker, greyer metal, and against a white opaline dial it gives markedly more contrast than polished steel would. The dial itself is opaline rather than sun-satin, so it scatters light softly instead of flaring, and the waves decor reads as texture rather than shine. The twelve-sided bezel carries no screws, leaving the satin-finished case unusually clean for this collection. The quartz movement runs five years between batteries, and the integrated three-row bracelet closes on a triple folding clasp with security push-pieces.
