Blue is the Fifty Fathoms at its least military and the version that most obviously references the sea rather than the navy. The sapphire bezel insert holds the colour permanently — a printed or anodised insert fades under UV, and Blancpain uses sapphire precisely because a dive bezel spends its life in sunlight. The sail-canvas strap is woven rather than moulded. Calibre 1315 with three series-coupled barrels gives five days of reserve, and the silicon balance spring is immune to magnetism.
