The middle size of the two-tone Panthère, 36.5mm by 26.7mm, with 18K yellow gold around the steel case at the bezel and gold links threaded between steel ones on the bracelet. Compared with the small model it has noticeably more dial, so the railway minute track and the black Roman numerals sit further apart and read more easily, yet the watch stays modest on the wrist. Blued-steel hands sweep the silvered face, and the crown carries a blue synthetic spinel. The movement is quartz; water resistance is 30 metres. Two metals suit this size particularly well: there is enough bracelet for the gold and steel to register as a pattern rather than a detail, and the case is discreet enough to wear every day beside jewellery in either metal. It is the practical choice for someone who finds the small model too slight and the large one too much.
