The small Tank Française in steel, 25.7mm by 21.2mm, and the most understated way into the collection. Even at this size the case and bracelet behave as one form, the long sides of the case continuing into the bracelet, so the watch looks tailored to the wrist rather than attached to it. A sunray finish on the silvered dial brightens and darkens as the wrist turns, beneath black Roman numerals and a pair of blued-steel sword hands. The faceted steel crown holds a synthetic spinel cabochon. Quartz-powered, it has a sapphire crystal and 30-metre water resistance. It shares its case size with the small gold model but is made entirely in steel, which keeps it light and easy to wear alongside other jewellery; the medium steel version offers the same design with a broader dial for a larger wrist.
