Mother-of-pearl is the reason to choose this reference over the plain silver one, and it is the reason no two examples are quite alike. The dial is cut from a single piece of shell, so the grain, the direction of the iridescence and the way pink and green surface as the wrist turns belong to that shell alone and cannot be reproduced. Against it, applied rhodium-plated indexes and Roman numerals stay deliberately simple - a decorated dial does not need decorated markers. The bezel is left plain, which is unusual on a mother-of-pearl Lady Serenade and lets the dial carry the watch by itself. An onyx cabochon tops the crown, a cream satin strap keeps everything pale, and the automatic Calibre 39-22 shows through the back.
