TOP GUN is named for the US Navy's Fighter Weapons School, and the ceramic case is the reason the association holds up — zirconium oxide is harder than steel, far lighter, and does not mark the way a painted case would. In black on a black dial with a black textile strap, the watch is almost entirely without contrast, which is the point: the luminous hands and numerals are the only thing meant to be visible at a glance. A soft-iron inner case shields the movement from magnetic fields. 44.5mm.
