The dial is carbon, and no two are alike. Because the material is built from woven layers compressed together, cutting a dial from it exposes the weave at whatever angle that particular slice happened to fall, so the grey striations running across this one belong to it alone. Against that, the polished rhodium-plated indexes and the two silver chronograph counters read with unusual clarity - a busy dial made legible by contrast rather than by simplification. Day and date sit together at three o'clock. The ML212 is the reason to look twice at the specification: 62 hours of reserve is well beyond the 38 the rest of this range offers, enough to leave the watch off from Friday evening to Monday morning and find it still running.
