The reference most people mean by "Seamaster" — 42mm of steel, black ceramic bezel, black ceramic dial, steel bracelet. The waves are laser-engraved into the ceramic rather than printed on it, which is why they catch light at an angle and vanish head-on. Calibre 8800 carries Master Chronometer certification, tested by METAS to a standard Omega does not set itself, and is unaffected by fields above 15,000 gauss. Three hundred metres, conical helium escape valve, date at six. The default choice in the collection, and the hardest one to argue with.
