The Moonwatch, in the specification NASA qualified in 1965 and the one worn on the lunar surface. The asymmetrical 42mm case protects the crown and pushers, the bezel carries the "dot over ninety" that collectors use to date a Speedmaster, and the dial is a step dial with the outer track dropping away. What has changed is inside: calibre 3861 replaced the 1861 with a Co-Axial escapement and Master Chronometer certification, so the movement is now tested by METAS and immune to 15,000 gauss. On the steel bracelet, hand-wound as it has always been.
