White dial, yellow gold case, brown alligator: the warmest and most classical combination the 1908 offers, and the one that looks least like anything else Rolex sells. The small seconds sits at six rather than sweeping from the centre, which is a dress-watch convention the Oyster range abandoned long ago. Calibre 7140 is visible through a sapphire back, decorated with Côtes de Genève and driven by an openwork yellow gold weight, holding roughly sixty-six hours.
