Blue from rim to centre, counters included, is what sets this white gold Daytona apart from its black and steel-colour siblings. Rather than contrasting subdials, Rolex keeps the three counters the same bright blue as the dial and defines them with fine rings and touches of red, so the chronograph reads as a single field of colour broken only by the hands and the red DAYTONA script above six. White gold suits the idea, since its pale tone leaves the blue to do all the work. The bezel is solid white gold with an engraved tachymetric scale, and the Oyster bracelet in the same metal fastens with an Oysterlock safety clasp whose Easylink link adds 5mm when needed. Calibre 4131 drives the chronograph with around seventy-two hours in reserve, and the pushers screw down against the case to hold its 100-metre rating.
