Oystersteel from case to clasp frames the bright blue dial of this Rolex Datejust 36, which pairs Roman numerals and a domed bezel with the Oyster bracelet. Its sturdy links suit the strength of the blue and lend the watch a sporting air, though the Roman numerals still hold a formal note. The case is built for daily use. A monobloc middle case, a screw-down case back and a screw-down Twinlock crown seal it to 100 meters, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal covers the dial. The Superlative Chronometer calibre 3235 is held after casing to a tolerance of two seconds a day in either direction, and it runs for around 70 hours. With an Easylink extension of 5mm in the Oysterclasp, this Rolex Datejust 36 is the steel and blue combination in its most athletic form.
