Everything on this Rolex Datejust 36 stays in a cool register: a white dial with Roman numerals, a diamond-set white gold bezel and a Jubilee bracelet in White Rolesor. With no warm metal anywhere, the watch reads as a single bright, pale object, and the Roman numerals give the dial its definition. The diamonds on the bezel supply the sparkle, and set in white gold they look icy rather than flashy. The Jubilee bracelet adds texture through its small links, which keeps the monochrome look from feeling flat. Scratch-resistant sapphire covers the dial, and the 36mm case joins 18 ct white gold to Oystersteel around a monobloc middle case. Calibre 3235 holds the Rolex Datejust 36 to Superlative Chronometer standards and stores close to 70 hours of energy.
