This Rolex Day-Date 36 pairs a white dial and Roman numerals with 18 ct Everose gold, which also forms its fluted bezel and President bracelet. There are no stones anywhere on the watch, so its appeal rests on contrast: crisp white against the soft pink of the gold, and the ridged fluting throwing fine lines of light around the dial. On that plain ground the numerals read cleanly, as do the weekday, written out in its window at 12, and the date at 3. The middle case is a single monobloc piece, and with its case back and Twinlock crown both screwed down, it is sealed to 100 meters. Calibre 3255, with its Chronergy escapement, keeps roughly 70 hours in reserve. Everose continues all the way to the concealed Crownclasp, so on this Rolex Day-Date 36 the gold and the white dial do all the work.
