Ice blue and 950 platinum set the tone of this Rolex Day-Date 36, whose dial carries Roman numerals and whose fluted bezel and President bracelet are platinum too. The blue is so pale that it sits close to the shade of the metal, keeping the watch cool and composed, while the numerals give it a classical bearing and the fluting a bright, ridged edge. Once cased, calibre 3255 must hold to a four-second daily window, two seconds either side of true time, for its Superlative Chronometer certification. The weekday fills its aperture at 12 as a whole word, the date takes 3, and the movement keeps going for approximately 70 hours off the wrist. Water resistance on the 36mm Oyster case reaches 100 meters, or 330 feet. Platinum runs on to a concealed Crownclasp, so this Rolex Day-Date 36 surrounds its ice blue dial with white metal.
