A bright blue dial with ten baguette-cut diamonds standing in for hour markers gives this Rolex Day-Date 36 its color, with 950 platinum for the case, the fluted bezel and the President bracelet. Rolex names it bright blue set with diamonds, and the saturated blue makes each colorless baguette flash. As a cool white metal, platinum frames that color without competing with it, and the stones alone mark the hours. Underneath sits calibre 3255, self-winding and certified as a Superlative Chronometer, with roughly 70 hours in reserve. Twelve o’clock gives the day in full, three o’clock the instantaneous date. Its Oyster case, closed by a screw-down case back, keeps water out to 330 feet. Tucked beneath the links, the Crownclasp keeps the Rolex Day-Date 36 smooth all the way around.
