A pink dial with baguette-cut diamonds at ten of its hours brings warmth to this Rolex Day-Date 36, which is otherwise all 950 platinum, from the fluted bezel to the President bracelet. The pink is gentle, a blush inside a cool white frame, and the diamonds sit on it like small bars of light. Fluting gives the platinum bezel a fine, regular texture, a quieter brilliance than the stones on the dial. That soft color also makes a calm backdrop for the calendar, with the weekday unabbreviated at the top and the date at three o'clock. A Chronergy escapement sits at the heart of calibre 3255, and the reserve lasts about 70 hours. The screw-down Twinlock crown helps the Oyster case hold out water to 100 meters. A concealed Crownclasp closes the platinum bracelet, so the Rolex Day-Date 36 shows unbroken metal all the way around.
