Here the Rolex Day-Date 36 wears 18 ct yellow gold, pairing a white dial and Roman numerals with a fluted bezel and a yellow gold President bracelet. White makes a crisp contrast with the warmth of the gold. The Roman numerals read cleanly against it, and so does the calendar. The day of the week sits at 12 o’clock as a full word, and the date at 3 has its own Cyclops lens. Its movement, calibre 3255, has a Chronergy escapement, Paraflex shock absorbers and a reserve of about 70 hours. The Oyster case stays waterproof to 100 meters. A concealed Crownclasp lets the yellow gold run without a break around the Rolex Day-Date 36. From bezel to clasp, the gold stays warm and continuous.
