A white dial with Roman numerals inside 18 ct white gold gives this Rolex Day-Date 36 a pale, quiet look, with the fluted bezel and President bracelet to match. Seen from across a room, the Rolex Day-Date 36 reads cool and understated rather than showy. Up close, the numerals, the spelled-out day at 12 and the 3 o’clock date stand sharp against the white. Inside, calibre 3255 has a blue Parachrom hairspring that magnetic fields do not disturb. Once cased, the watch holds to a Superlative Chronometer standard of plus or minus two seconds a day. Power reserve stands at about 70 hours, and the Oyster case seals out water to 100 meters. The concealed Crownclasp vanishes beneath the bracelet when closed, so only white gold shows around the wrist.
