This Rolex Day-Date 36 puts diamonds around the bezel and a white dial with Roman numerals at its center, in an 18 ct yellow gold case on a President bracelet of plain yellow gold. White against yellow gold is a clean, strong contrast, and the bezel diamonds add a second, brighter white around the edge. The Roman numerals give the face a formal look and stand out sharply on the plain ground, as does the calendar, which names the weekday and shows the date at 3. Inside the 36mm case, calibre 3255 has a blue Parachrom hairspring, paramagnetic so that magnetic fields barely affect it, and roughly 70 hours of reserve. Scratch-resistant sapphire covers the dial. With the bracelet left plain and its Crownclasp concealed beneath, the bezel holds every diamond on this Rolex Day-Date 36.
