On the wrist, the diamonds of this 18 ct white gold Rolex Day-Date 36 reach well past the case: its President bracelet has diamond-set center links, its bezel is diamond-set, and its white mother-of-pearl dial takes ten baguette-cut diamonds as hour markers. Mother-of-pearl is nacre, the lustrous lining of a shell, so the sheen and faint pastel tints of every dial are its own. On that soft, shifting surface the baguettes look crisp and exact. White gold around white nacre keeps the palette pale from end to end, and the diamonds give it definition. Inside the Rolex Day-Date 36, calibre 3255 has a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. With its case back and Twinlock crown screwed home, the Oyster case is sealed to 100 meters. The day of the week is given in full at 12 o'clock and the date sits at 3.
