On this Rolex Day-Date 36, a blue ombré dial set with diamonds sits within the diamond-set bezel of an 18 ct white gold case: its hour markers are diamonds in 18 ct gold settings, and baguette-cut diamonds stand at 6 and 9 o'clock. The shading darkens toward the rim, which is where the markers sit, so each diamond shows against the deepest part of the blue. Across the top, the day is written in full. A Superlative Chronometer, calibre 3255 runs for about 70 hours on a full wind. Its Oyster case, with a monobloc middle case and a screw-down back, is rated for 100 meters of water resistance, and the Twinlock crown screws down as well.
