A white dial with Roman numerals, a diamond-set bezel and a President bracelet in plain 18 ct white gold make this Rolex Day-Date 36 a study in white on white. The palette could hardly be narrower, and that is its appeal. With so little color, the numerals and hands carry the design, and the day, given in full at 12 o'clock, reads cleanly against the uncluttered ground. At 3, the date changes instantaneously beneath its Cyclops lens. Calibre 3255 delivers Superlative Chronometer accuracy and nearly three days of power reserve. The Oyster case seals with a screw-down case back and Twinlock crown and resists water to 100 meters, while a concealed Crownclasp hides the fastening of the bracelet. It is a Rolex Day-Date 36 that leaves all of the sparkle to the bezel.
