Green aventurine, a natural stone, makes the dial of a Rolex Day-Date 36 in Everose gold, where 32 diamonds sit in 18 kt gold hour markers and 24 more on the Roman numerals VI and IX, also 18 kt gold, beneath a bezel of baguette-cut diamonds. Aventurine is a form of quartz scattered with tiny reflective inclusions, so it glitters faintly and its pattern differs from one dial to the next. Green stone and rosy metal flatter each other, one looking cooler and the other warmer side by side. Calibre 3255, with its blue Parachrom hairspring, keeps around 70 hours in reserve. Twelve o'clock shows the weekday by name and 3 o'clock the date. The 18 ct Everose gold of the case carries on through the President bracelet, which closes on a concealed Crownclasp, so the Rolex Day-Date 36 frames its stone in rose from end to end.
