Shell, stone and rose-toned metal each catch the light in their own way on this Rolex Day-Date 36, whose white mother-of-pearl dial counts its hours in ten baguette-cut diamonds under a bezel of more baguettes, with 18 ct Everose gold for the case and President bracelet. Mother-of-pearl, the iridescent lining of a shell, glows softly and shows a slightly different play of color on every dial. The diamonds answer with sharp flashes from their flat, step-cut facets, while the Everose adds a warm, rosy polish. The calendar claims 12 o'clock for the weekday, written in full, and 3 o'clock for the date, so the ten baguettes fill the remaining hours. In the Rolex Day-Date 36, Paraflex shock absorbers protect calibre 3255, a Superlative Chronometer that holds roughly 70 hours of reserve. Its Oyster case is rated to 100 meters.
