This Rolex Day-Date 36 is 950 platinum from the case to the President bracelet, with Roman numerals on its white dial and baguette-cut diamonds set into the bezel. Platinum has a soft, gray-white sheen, and with a white dial inside it the watch becomes a quiet arrangement of pale tones. The Roman numerals give that pale face its structure. Every diamond sits on the bezel, where the baguettes are set edge to edge so the light travels around the dial in a band. Calibre 3255 runs on a Chronergy escapement and stores about 70 hours of energy. A screw-down Twinlock crown and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal complete an Oyster case rated to 100 meters. With the weekday in full at 12 and the date at 3, the Rolex Day-Date 36 keeps its calendar as clear as its palette.
