Ice blue, a pale and glacial shade, covers the dial on a Rolex Day-Date 36 made in 950 platinum, where Roman numerals mark the hours, baguette-cut diamonds line the bezel and the President bracelet is platinum as well. Beside the gray-white metal, ice blue looks like a cool tint taken from the platinum itself, quiet rather than bold. The Roman numerals lend that soft color a note of formality, while the bezel baguettes supply every bit of sparkle. Each day of the week is written out in full at the top of the dial, and a Cyclops lens sits over the date at 3. Calibre 3255, a Superlative Chronometer protected by Paraflex shock absorbers, keeps close to 70 hours of power in reserve. The Oyster case is water resistant to 330 feet, and the Rolex Day-Date 36 fastens with a concealed Crownclasp.
