Cased and braceleted in 950 platinum, this Rolex Day-Date 36 has a bezel set with baguette-cut diamonds and a white mother-of-pearl dial whose hours are marked by ten baguette-cut diamonds. Platinum has a cool, faintly gray white tone, so with nacre and diamonds the whole watch becomes a composition in white. The mother-of-pearl gives that composition movement, its luster changing with the angle of the light, while the baguettes add sharp, linear flashes. Its calendar names the day at 12 and keeps the date at 3. Calibre 3255 provides around 70 hours of reserve, with a Chronergy escapement at its heart, and the Oyster case stays sealed to a depth of 100 meters, or 330 feet. The President bracelet is platinum as well and closes on a concealed Crownclasp, rendering this Rolex Day-Date 36 entirely in pale tones.
