A diamond-paved dial with ten baguette-cut, rainbow-coloured sapphires as hour markers is the heart of this yellow gold Rolex Day-Date 36, set inside a bezel of baguette-cut diamonds and an 18 ct yellow gold case on a matching President bracelet. Paved means the dial's surface is covered with closely set diamonds, so the whole face glitters. Against that white sparkle, the sapphires supply all of the color, a ring of different hues at the hours. Yellow gold warms the edges and keeps so much brilliance from feeling cold. The weekday at 12 and the date at 3 sit in windows opened through the pavé. Calibre 3255, a Superlative Chronometer, holds about 70 hours of reserve, and the Oyster case is water resistant to 100 meters.
