Roman numerals on a white dial give this 18 ct yellow gold Rolex Day-Date 36 a formal, almost classical face, set off by a bezel of baguette-cut diamonds. The numerals lend a sense of occasion, and against plain white they read as clearly as print. Yellow gold warms the white without competing with it. Twelve o'clock carries the day in full, and the date sits at 3 under the Cyclops lens. Inside the Oyster case, calibre 3255 keeps about 70 hours of reserve and is fitted with a Chronergy escapement and Paraflex shock absorbers. The case back and Twinlock crown both screw down, and water resistance is 100 meters. A concealed Crownclasp fastens the yellow gold President bracelet, and this Rolex Day-Date 36 joins traditional numerals to a bezel full of light.
