Two kinds of diamond setting share the white mother-of-pearl dial on this white gold Rolex Day-Date 36, diamonds in 18 kt gold settings for the hour markers and baguette-cut diamonds at 6 and 9 o'clock, while more baguettes ring the bezel. The 18 ct white gold of the case continues into the President bracelet. Nacre forms in thin layers inside a shell, which gives it a pearly shimmer that no two pieces show quite the same way. With white metal and diamonds all around, the shell's faint tints are the one source of color. Calibre 3255 is a Superlative Chronometer, so the cased watch is held to a daily rate of two seconds either way. Under its Cyclops lens the date sits at 3, with the full weekday at 12. A concealed Crownclasp hides the fastening, so the Rolex Day-Date 36 stays seamless from end to end.
