Cool and quiet, this white gold Rolex Day-Date 36 leaves its white dial to Roman numerals alone and saves the sparkle for a bezel of baguette-cut diamonds, with 18 ct white gold running on from the case into the President bracelet. With the dial kept simple, attention moves to how the watch is made. Its Oyster case starts from a monobloc middle case, adds a screw-down back and screw-down Twinlock crown, and finishes with scratch-resistant sapphire over the dial. Inside is calibre 3255, a perpetual self-winding movement with a Chronergy escapement, a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, certified as a Superlative Chronometer and good for about 70 hours. Against the white, both calendar windows read easily: the weekday at the top, the date on the right. The baguettes give this Rolex Day-Date 36 its brilliance, and a concealed Crownclasp gives the bracelet its clean line.
