This Rolex Day-Date 40 is made in 950 platinum, from its 40mm case and fluted bezel to its President bracelet, and frames a white mother-of-pearl dial set with 10 baguette-cut diamonds as hour markers. The day of the week is displayed in full at 12 o'clock, while the date at 3 o'clock changes instantaneously beneath a Cyclops lens. Calibre 3255 drives both displays as a Superlative Chronometer with approximately 70 hours of power reserve, built with a Chronergy escapement, a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. Its Oyster case, with a Twinlock winding crown, is water resistant to 100 meters. A concealed Crownclasp closes the bracelet so that its line runs unbroken. Against all that platinum, the white mother-of-pearl and its baguettes give this Rolex Day-Date 40 a softer sheen at its center.
