The dial of this Rolex Day-Date 40 is white mother-of-pearl, its hour markers 10 baguette-cut diamonds, set within a fluted white gold bezel, while case and President bracelet are 18 ct white gold. At 12 o'clock the weekday is spelled out in full, and at 3 o'clock the instantaneous date is enlarged by the Cyclops lens. The 40mm case follows Oyster construction, its monobloc middle closed by a screw-down back, and it is rated for 100 meters of water. Inside, calibre 3255 winds itself and holds roughly 70 hours in reserve. It carries Paraflex shock absorbers and a blue Parachrom hairspring, with certification as a Superlative Chronometer. A concealed Crownclasp fastens the bracelet. The fluted white gold bezel gives this Rolex Day-Date 40 its texture, while the diamonds stay on the dial.
