A slate ombré dial with Roman numerals gives this 18 ct Everose gold Rolex Day-Date 40 a cooler face than its metal would suggest, framed by a diamond-set bezel, with an Everose President bracelet to match. Slate is a stony gray, and the ombré treatment deepens it by degrees from the middle to the rim. Beside the warm pink of Everose, that gray acts as a calm foil, and since the dial itself holds no stones, the bezel diamonds supply every bit of sparkle. The calendar reads plainly against it, the weekday appearing whole in its window at 12 o'clock, the date beside the crown switching instantly beneath the Cyclops lens. Underneath, calibre 3255 brings a Chronergy escapement, Paraflex shock absorbers and close to 70 hours of reserve. A concealed Crownclasp fastens the bracelet, and the Twinlock crown screws home to keep this Rolex Day-Date 40 watertight at 100 meters.
