Pink gold and pale nacre meet on this Rolex Day-Date 40: its white mother-of-pearl dial carries 10 baguette-cut diamonds at the hours, ringed by a diamond-set bezel, with the 40mm case and President bracelet in 18 ct Everose gold. Mother-of-pearl is natural nacre, so its iridescence drifts from tone to tone as the wrist turns. Beside the Everose, the nacre takes on a gentle warmth. The baguettes, long and straight-edged, add a crisper kind of light to that soft ground, and the bezel's stones answer them at the edge of the case. The day's name runs unabbreviated across the top, while the 3 o'clock date flips over the moment midnight passes. Calibre 3255, certified as a Superlative Chronometer, stores roughly 70 hours of energy. The bracelet carries no stones and closes on a concealed Crownclasp, so this Rolex Day-Date 40 keeps its diamonds to bezel and dial.
