This Rolex Day-Date 40 keeps to a palette of white, combining an 18 ct white gold case and President bracelet with a diamond-set bezel and a white mother-of-pearl dial whose hour markers are 10 baguette-cut diamonds. Across the top of the dial, the name of the day appears without abbreviation, and a Cyclops lens magnifies the instantaneous date at 3 o'clock. Calibre 3255 supplies about 70 hours of power reserve and holds Superlative Chronometer certification, gaining or losing no more than two seconds a day after casing. It uses a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring alongside Paraflex shock absorbers. A concealed Crownclasp completes the President bracelet. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal covers the dial, and the 40mm Oyster case is rated to 100 meters. Every stone on this Rolex Day-Date 40 sits against white.
