This Rolex Day-Date 40 in 950 platinum sets a white mother-of-pearl dial with 10 baguette-cut diamonds as hour markers inside a bezel lined with more baguettes, on a platinum President bracelet. Light behaves two ways here: the nacre spreads it into a soft, shifting glow, while the baguettes return it in bright, clean-cut glints. Their straight lines give the iridescent dial a clear structure, and the platinum around them keeps everything in one light key. Day and date keep their usual places, the one spelled out at 12 o'clock, the other enlarged at 3 by the Cyclops lens. Inside this Rolex Day-Date 40, calibre 3255 is cushioned by Paraflex shock absorbers, holds roughly 70 hours and is certified a Superlative Chronometer. Water stays out to 100 meters thanks to the screw-down Twinlock crown, and the concealed Crownclasp folds away beneath the platinum links.
