This Rolex Day-Date 40 in 18 ct yellow gold uses one cut of diamond twice, setting baguettes around its bezel and placing 10 baguette-cut diamonds as hour markers on a white mother-of-pearl dial, with a yellow gold President bracelet fastened by a concealed Crownclasp. The straight-sided stones give bezel and dial the same clean geometry. The calendar spells out the day at 12 o'clock, and its date switches instantly under the Cyclops lens at 3 o'clock. Within the 40mm Oyster case sits calibre 3255, a self-winding Superlative Chronometer with roughly 70 hours of power reserve, a Chronergy escapement and Paraflex shock absorbers. A Twinlock winding crown keeps water out to 100 meters. On this Rolex Day-Date 40, the diamonds are the design itself rather than an accent.
