The black-dialled Explorer II is the harder-wearing half of the pair and the one that goes unnoticed next to the Polar, which for a lot of buyers is the recommendation. The orange 24-hour hand tracks against a fixed engraved bezel, telling you whether it is morning or night underground, and the hour hand sets independently so the same hand can carry a second time zone. Calibre 3285 drives it with roughly seventy hours in reserve.
