Grey and black earned this one the Bruce Wayne, named for the man out of costume rather than the cape — the same joke that gave the blue and black bezel the Batman, carried over to the version that dresses down. It arrived in 2024 as the first steel GMT-Master II with a grey bezel, a combination Rolex had until then kept for gold and two-tone. Colour is rationed to two places: the green of the triangle-tipped 24-hour hand, and the green model name on the black lacquer dial. The bezel numerals are platinum, deposited under vacuum, because anything less would vanish into grey ceramic. On the Jubilee the five-piece links catch light the flat bezel refuses to, which is the whole argument for choosing it over the Oyster.
